Bruins to host scrimmage in celebration of Pride month

In celebration of Pride month, the Bruins will host a scrimmage with the nonprofit organization Boston Pride Hockey at Warrior Ice Arena on Thursday at 7 pm.

Former Bruin goalies Tuukka Rask and Andrew Raycroft, Olympic gold medalist Colleen Coyne and members of the Premier Hockey League’s Boston Pride will be in attendance.

“At BPH, we believe hockey is for everyone and remain committed to our mission of providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive hockey environment for anyone who wants to participate — both on and off the ice,” said Greg Sargent, President of Boston Pride Hockey, in a release from the Bruins. “This Pride Month, we’re once again proud to join the Boston Bruins, TD Bank, and PHF’s Boston Pride to celebrate teamwork, acceptance, and respect — three values that continue to be at the core of every BPH initiative.”

The scrimmage is the second hosted by the B’s, and sponsored by TD Bank, as part of the NHL’s Hockey is for Everyone initiative. BPH is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ players in the game of hockey.
