Police are looking for a suspect who they say attempted to kidnap a 3-year-old child Tuesday afternoon at a McDonald’s in Brooklyn Park.
According to the Brooklyn Park Police Department, the incident happened just after 1 p.m. at the McDonald’s near 85th Avenue North and Highway 252. A 911 caller reported that a young man tried to grab her child and “indicated he was going to take the child.”
The child screamed, and the suspect then took off with a cell phone he took from the child, police said.
Investigators say the suspect was wearing a black T-shirt and white shorts and left the area headed east on a dark-colored BMX bike.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call 911.
